How to reach the Corn Gem
From the central hub, take the stairs, turn left, cross the plank on the left and climb the spiral staircase, then use a Grappling Hook to reach the high doorway on the left wall. Cross the archer-side room and cut the blocking roots with the Axe to reach the chest containing the Corn Gem and a Grinding Stone.
Prepare your Axe and Grappling Hook
Bring both an Axe and a Grappling Hook before setting out. The Grappling Hook creates a rope to the elevated doorway, while the Axe removes the roots protecting the chest. Check that both tools are in your inventory before leaving camp.
Craft the Grappling Hook in your inventory from 1 Hook and 1 Rope. The Hook is crafted at the Workbench. To make the Rope, combine 2 Vines and 1 Stick in the Crafting menu.
Follow the route above the spiral stairs
- Climb the stairs from the central hub camp to reach the upper paths.
- Follow the left path to the wooden plank on the left, which leads toward the spiral staircase.
- Cross the wooden plank to reach the spiral staircase.
- Climb the spiral staircase upward to enter the room above.
- Use the Grappling Hook at the doorway high on the room's left wall to create a rope up to the entrance.
- Climb the rope through the elevated doorway to enter the room beyond.
- Cross the room toward the archer's side to reach the roots blocking the chest.
- Cut the blocking roots with the Axe to clear access to the chest behind them.
- Collect the Corn Gem from the chest behind the roots. The same chest also contains a Grinding Stone used for higher tier weapon upgrades.
Place the Corn Gem at the Sanctuary Door
The Corn Gem belongs on a statue beside the Sanctuary Door, together with the Bean, Guarana and Tomato Gems. To reach the door from camp once the connecting doors are unlocked, head up the hub stairs and through those doors, continuing past the fountain and roots. Look for the large doorway with four statues standing in front of it.
Place the Corn Gem on any available statue and put the other gems on the remaining statues. There is no required placement order. Once all four gems are in place, the Sanctuary Door opens and stays open, giving you access to the final room.
If you get stuck or lose the gem
If you cannot find the way forward above the spiral stairs, inspect the left wall above you for the elevated doorway. That entrance leads into the room you must cross to reach the roots. Keep the Axe ready for the barrier on the archer's side.
The Corn Gem is kept on death. If a gem you already collected has gone missing, have the host recover the lost treasure through the Catalogue. This can retrieve treasures even from another player's inventory.
