Reach the chest and return your gold
Place the Sun Stone Coin and Moon Stone Coin in the Water Statue on the dining-hall route to lower the water and reach the golden chest, then put the gold treasures inside. The chest is a treasure-return destination for the true ending, so finding it empty before you return those treasures is expected.
How to reach and use the golden chest
- Collect the Sun Stone Coin and Moon Stone Coin from the rooms to the left and right of the dining hall. You need both for the Water Statue that controls access to the golden chest.
- Climb into the second room on the right of the dining hall. This takes you to the statue used to reach the empty golden chest.
- Place the Sun Stone Coin and Moon Stone Coin in the Water Statue's hands. With both coins inserted, the water lowers and access to the chest is exposed.
- Follow the exposed passage to the golden chest. Leave the coins in that statue while you need its passage.
- Put Gold Coins, Gold Nugget, Gold Bracelet, Gold Amulet, Gold Statue and Gold Talisman into the golden chest. These are the six gold treasures returned here as part of the true-ending requirements.
Keep the Stone Coins in place
The Stone Coins control the Water Statue's water level. Both must remain inserted in the same statue to keep its water lowered. Removing either coin makes the water return, so finish using that passage before retrieving them.
Returning treasures is a separate interaction from placing the coins. The coins expose the route; Gold Coins, Gold Nugget, Gold Bracelet, Gold Amulet, Gold Statue and Gold Talisman belong inside the chest. Reaching the chest therefore gives you a place to return your finds rather than an automatic treasure reward.

What to check when the chest is empty
- Check whether you have returned any gold treasures yet. An empty treasure-return chest is expected before you put them inside; opening the route does not automatically fill it with a reward.
- Check which statue route you followed. The empty golden chest receives returned treasures, while the separate statue near the fountain and corn area reveals the Gold Talisman pickup.
- Check that both Stone Coins are still inserted in the relevant Water Statue if the route has flooded again. Removing either coin allows that statue's water to return.
If a treasure you already found has gone missing, have the host recover it through the Catalogue. The host can retrieve a lost treasure wherever it ended up, including another player's inventory. Bring the recovered gold treasure back to the golden chest for its return.
