Where to restock before your next expedition

Gather Apples and Mushrooms near the starting area for an early restock; later, collect supplies from the boat-side sewer room, the Black Beans bush on the goblin-cave route and the upper fountain's Wild Corn. Return to camp to prepare meals, then keep surplus perishables in a Food Basket or physically place them in a Sorting Box.

Make an early food run

  1. Cook your Apples and Mushrooms at the starting campfire to prepare an early meal.
  2. Return to camp with the ingredients you intend to use. The small inventory makes a focused food run easier to manage than collecting every resource along the way.

Choose a turnaround point before leaving camp. Once you have the ingredients for your next meals, head back and cook instead of extending the trip into an unfamiliar area. Keep your food run focused on restocking.

04

Reach the upper Tomatoes and Cheese

Bring a Grappling Hook for this food stop. Craft the Grappling Hook in your inventory; the Hook itself is made at the Workbench.

  1. Climb the stairs from the main hub to begin the upper route.
  2. Take the left route, then the next left across the wooden plank, to reach the stairs beyond.
  3. Climb the stairs to enter the room used for the Corn Gem route.
  4. Grapple to the high doorway on the right side of the room. The passage beyond contains Cheese and Tomatoes.
05

Turn your haul into expedition meals

  1. Build a Cooking Table from 2 Wood Planks and 1 Leather. Leather is the crafting unlock prerequisite, so pick it up before checking for the table recipe.
  2. Process harvested carcasses at the Cooking Table. A Bat Carcass gives 2 Raw Drumsticks, a Red Bat Carcass gives 3, and a Scorpion Carcass gives 1 Scorpion Tail.
  3. Cut 1 Raw Meat into 3 Raw Steaks at the Cooking Table to get more portions ready for roasting.
  4. Build a Rotisserie from 2 Sticks and 2 Wood Planks over a Bonfire to create a roasting station.
  5. Roast your Raw Steaks or Raw Drumsticks on the Rotisserie. Retrieve the cooked food promptly, because food left on too long burns.
  6. Cook 2 Tomatoes in a Cooking Pot for Tomato Soup, or 2 Mushrooms for Mushroom Soup. Keep the fire beneath the pot burning so cooking can progress.
06

Store the surplus before leaving camp

Craft a Food Basket from 3 Vines for ingredients and meals you want to keep fresh longer. Ordinary chests let food spoil much faster than a Food Basket. Food physically placed in a Sorting Box does not use the same spoilage timer.

Plan your carrying space around the finished dishes. Boiled Corn, Fruit Compote, Cooked Veggies, Seafood Pasta, Ramen and Spaghetti each have a stack size of 1. Prepare what you intend to carry, and store the remaining ingredients before heading out.

A Backpack stays with you after death, while items that are not retained go into a death pack. Keep surplus supplies at camp when you can, and avoid leaving ingredients sitting in inactive cooking slots.
