Start with updates and online status
If Deep Dish Dungeon won’t let you join a friend, update both full-game installations, confirm that both players are online, and check any lobby password before retrying. Then work through the lobby checks below.
Check the game, platform and party
Use the full release on each device for these checks. Deep Dish Dungeon has a separate Steam demo, so check which installation you have launched. Both players should use current compatible versions and an online session.
Online co-op supports 1–3 players, including cross-platform multiplayer across the supported Steam and Xbox releases. The Steam version supports Windows and macOS. Keep your active party within that player limit when checking whether another friend can join.
Retry the lobby connection
- Install the available updates on both full-game copies. Patch 1.0.50.0 addressed lobby and character-loading bugs, and the later 1.0.51.0 hotfix brought additional fixes.
- Check the internet connection on each device. Online co-op requires online connectivity, and the Steam release lists a broadband internet connection in its requirements.
- Reopen the lobby list after updating. The patch fixes include duplicate lobby entries and a search-filter correction, so check for your friend’s session again in the updated interface.
- Have the host remove the lobby password if you want to test joining without it. Password removal was fixed in a post-launch patch; this retry can help you narrow down whether password access is involved.
- Retry joining the host’s online session. Note whether the problem occurs before you find the lobby, during joining, or after your character appears, so you can describe the failure precisely if it continues.

If you join but cannot control your character
If the world loads with 0 HP, no controls and an empty inventory, check your updates before another attempt. Patch 1.0.50.0 fixed this loading state after many players had joined a world. The fix prevents saving while a world is loading or before the character is ready.
If your friend still cannot join
Record each player’s platform and game version, along with the exact error message. Explain whether the lobby is missing, the invitation fails, or the world loads without working controls. Report the reproducible failure through the official Raw Fury support channel, including what happened after updating and retrying.
